Carmel Creative produces Chicago’s largest annual entrepreneurial tech awards show.
The 2018 Momentum Awards welcomed more than 800 guests from across a myriad of ventures and industries, none more enthusiastic then the Governor-elect, JB Pritzker, who also served as co-founder of 1871, the digital start up incubator whom the benefits of the evening proceeded.
This year’s winner for the 2018 Corporate Champion Award was financial services company Discover , while FutureFounders received the Chicagoness Award for emergent start-ups. The Entrepreneurial Champion Award was given to both Ellen Rudnick of the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business and Linda Darragh of Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management for their contributions toward building the city’s prospering relationships between the tech and venture sectors.
Additionally, the 2018 Momentum Rising Star Award went to supply chain tracking startup FourKites while resale music marketplace Reverb received the 2018 Momentum Award.
In addition to Governor-elect Pritzker, guests also heard remarks from Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, 1871 CEO Betsy Ziegler, CEC Board Treasurer Laura Ferris Anderson, CEC Board Members Leslie Anderson, Troy Henikoff, Lee Henderson and more.
Following the final awards presentation guests were invited to dessert, cocktails and dancing with one of Chicago’s most sought after live DJ’s laying down a good time.
